Episode 92
Ethical Scripture Integration and Assessing Spiritual Readiness
1. Content Description
This continuing education training equips Christian mental health professionals to ethically integrate faith into counseling while maintaining professional competence and respecting client autonomy.
Participants will examine the ethical responsibilities related to spirituality and religion in counseling, the role of informed consent in faith integration, and the research supporting the relevance of spirituality in mental health treatment. The training introduces the FICA Spiritual Assessment as a framework for evaluating clients’ spiritual beliefs, explores how to assess spiritual readiness for faith-based interventions, differentiates implicit and explicit faith integration, and provides practical guidance for determining when prayer, Scripture, and other spiritual interventions are clinically appropriate.
